I love the sound of a jukebox playin' So I sit here while she's staying home Watching Dalls on TV I love the taste of whiskey straight The strongest thing she ever takes Is a sip from a small glass of chablis
I've got that Friday night fever Sometimes a man just needs a breather She knows I love her and I need her And I'm no cheater I've just got that Friday night fever
She wouldn't change me if she could I wouldn't change her, she's too good Sometimes a man just needs a change of pace I've heard all those come on lines But I go home at closing time I know no one could ever take her place
I've got that Friday night fever Sometimes a man just needs a breather She knows I love her and I need her And I'm no cheater I've just got that Friday night fever |

I just had to pick up my girlfriends daughter (cara) from school because she missed her bus. she's 11. i was listening to this comp called "thanks for the floor" from crafty records. anyway, there is a cover on there by this band called the ergs. they did a ramones cover. out of nowhere cara asks, " is this a ramones cover?"
BOO YAH! |

 FAMILY PHOTO!!
Sorry for the lack of updates. Lots has happened between the 27th and now. I'm pretty sure I've forgotten all of it, so instead i'll just post pictures from the Casa De Chihuahua show.
( pixxxx )
In more recent news I spoke with my grandmother yesterday and she said my grandfather sleeps constantly and refuses to eat. We both feel these are bad signs. I believe I am going up north to see him. I'll be up there for a week. I definitely want to hear all the stories he has to tell. I'm interested in my heritage and his bravery from WWII. I'm probably gonna have some sweet pics of my grandpa too, so be expecting great things when I return to update this thing.
My mortgage has been reduced, so I've got all this spare money each month and it's totally sweet. Too bad I'm deciding to save it all. Oh well, vacation should be kick ass. |

I really should update this thing more often than once a week. I forget what I mean to say as the week passes. Anyway, Josh Dwyer, possibly my best friend ever, graduated from basic training this past week. I went and supported him at Ft. Jackson. I'm not a supporter of the military, but I am a huge supporter of my friend in any decision he makes. It was pretty great seeing him in those ginormous glasses. They're called BCG's I believe and I thought they were only in war movies. Turns out, everyone that has to wear glasses wears them, even the ladies. It's super fucking funny, especially on a vain dood like Josh.
( SO! Picture time )
the night after Josh's graduation, Finn Riggins played at the house. They got here super early, so we ate pizza and watch Lars and the Real Girl, which is super incredible. I definitely recommend it to anyone looking for something to watch. Highly enjoyable. During the movie everyone started showing up. Castalia also played. It was super sweet. It's always a pleasure seeing beth. Hugs all around, etc.
( Castalia / Finn Riggins )
The next day we celebrated easter. It was pretty awesome. Carmen, Cara and I went to the park. We had an easter egg hung, found a lost dog, and ate a pizza. The lost dog had a tag with a website on it. Once again, iphone saves the day. I went to the website, plugged in the code on the dogs tag, and emailed the owner. The owner called me within 20 minutes. We were still at the park when he called. We hung out and waited for the owner to come. It was an easter miracle!! The dog was so cute. He was a cocker spaniel and he was golden and beautiful. His name was Gunner! It was pretty awesome. I've got some pictures of the Easter Sunday ( if you're interested )
And for those of you that don't know...I am completely car free. I haven't had a working car for almost two months, and I've been riding my bike exclusively for one month. I love it and I don't want a thing to change. It's such a freeing experience. I feel better mentally and physically. On top of all that I don't have to pay car insurance, gas, or car payments. And I get to enjoy the spring weather and the smells of fresh cut grass and blooming flowers! It's fucking incredible. |

well, I didn't go and shoot guns or drink beer last wednesday. after talking it over with my roommate jeremy, we decided neither of us had the money to spend $60 on ammo a piece. i was so super excited about the idea of shooting guns (not sure why, it just seems cool. blame video games i suppose. oh and movies). so we decide not to, and i get a message from a girl on myspace. natalie. kacie's best friend. she sent me a message that said i should call her as soon as i got the message, and that it concerned kacie. well, normally if someone else contacts you on someone elses behalf, it's never good. i called natalie and she dropped the bomb on me. kacie is dead. i'm really really really heartbroken about this. i've known kacie for a pretty long time. she's been a really great friend to me, and i'd like to think i've been at least equally good of a friend to her. i can't really bring myself to write about it because then it seems to finalize everything. i haven't cried over her and i don't know if i will. there have been times i almost did, but then i try not to think about it. she was really great and i cherished the moments we got to hang out or talk. enough about that.
friday we had a kick ass show, which was also a kick ass st pattys day party. ( tubers, environmental youth crunch, and irish car bombs! (+ the mountain yellers!!) ) |

lots can happen in a week. last monday was cara's birthday (feb 25). she turned 11. it was all sorts of crazy and we had birthday cake and pizza at chuck e cheese.
( birthday pics (massive amounts!) )
then friday night we saw paul baribeau. this would be 2/29. i have listened to him for a while, but not gotten the pleasure of seeing him. i was actually pretty disappointed. i think it was more of the crowd than his performing. everyone was sitting down almost the whole show. listening to his music again i don't know what i was expecting. i guess i just thought people would passionately sing his songs. they seem really heart felt and i love them. carmen, allen, and kate came along. it was a great time. i met some cool kids and invited them to the house shows in florence. i spoke of how i want a sense of community amongst all of us. i think that it should be no problem for my friends in charleston to drive up for badass show i'm hosting at my house and they can drink and crash the night. then if there's a sweet show in charleston the next weekend, i'd love to be able to come down and party and hug and dance with my friends. 2 hours shouldn't stand between building communities and long lasting relationships that aren't happening right now. so, as i said, some contacts were made and hopefully relationships bloom from them!
( p. baribeau & friends )
okay enough of that.
work has changed my schedule to set. the wheels are in motion. i work m, t, th, f, s, and have off w, and sun. it's pretty sweet. didn't think i'd like it, but it's not half bad. being stuck in the store sucks, but oh well. two days off a week!!
i'm building a fence this weekend. me and my buddy matt are laying down the posts. it's pretty exciting. i've never built a fence before. when we get the fence completely built i'm getting a puppy. so expect many pictures coming of a super cute puppy soon!! |

okay. it's 2008. i had to deliver a hit p50s601. it's a 50" plasma. no big deal. customer had a stand, cable box, dvd player, and bose cinemate. no big deal. run all audio into tv, out to cinemate. cinemate has only one audio input, so it was the only option. i run it the way it should be. no sound happens when i have the tv on the cable input. if i switch to DVD no problem. for anyone curious, i was running composite (red, yellow, white / VIDEO 1) for DVD, and HDMI (video 5) for cable. i troubleshoot each device individually. i do this for basically an hour. no sound will come from that goddamned cable input. i call peoples a little more in the know than me. and they aren't in the know on this. i leave and go back to the store. i tell my assistant manager i need to take a video switch out there and go back. he asks if i did this that and the other. of course i had. i wasn't out at the customers house for an hour jerkin' off for fucks sake. he then walks away and kevin (the store manager) walks up. he verbally assaults me bitching about me having to go back out to the customers house. total bullshit. i tell him to come out there with me, since he's the store manager and make it work. i said "if you come out with me and make it work, i will put in my two weeks notice today, because i'm a moron." he hid behind bullshit meetings. anyway, i call hitachi and they confirmed that the audio out ONLY works on input 1. the DIGITAL audio out only works on the coax input. WTF HITACHI??? it's 2008. that shit shouldn't even be allowed to fly. not to mention it has a resolution of 1920 X 1080, but it's interlace. it isn't even true 1080P HD. fuck hitachi and fuck my manager for being a douchebag today. |

I did an installation behind an installer today. Basically I had to teach this guy how to switch inputs on his TV so he can watch his TV, VCR, or DVD player. He was really old and I really just wanted to spend time with him. I want to hear peoples life stories. He said he was born in Hartsville and he lives there currently, but I was not able to get anymore information from him. He spoke with a slight stutter and was extremely timid. Being old scares me. Not because I don't think I'll be an able-bodied senior citizen, but only because I will see even more how much people don't care. It's pretty depressing really.
anyway, onto happier things...( like last nights sweet ass show ) |

for those of you ignorant to the life of david, lemme fill you in.
i'm now 24 years old. i install tv's for people and fix computers with circuit city. it's kind of fucked up just because i think tv's are a big waste of time. i own a sweet ass house. myspace.com/511house i throw shows and am trying to build a sense of community with lots of sweet people in this town. my girlfriend carmen lives with me now. we had a long distance relationship from SC to FL and now she lives in SC with me. we will have been living together for 1 year, come next month. it's been ups and downs. personally there have been more downs than ups. we work on it daily though. we have lots of love too. i think i've gotten chubby since home life has set in, guess the alpha male feels no threats and has let his guard down? yeah right, i was never the alpha male. anyway, i've started working out. i'm going to start running once it warms up just a wee bit more. i'm still a vegetarian.
what can be expected from this journal:
lots of bitching little personal notes i want to remember FOREVER pictures from house shows excercise / instrumental practice journal for motivation general awesomeness with shitty sentence structure streams of consciousness lots of love. |

it's apparently been over a year since i've updated the ol' LJ. i had a super secret journal that no one really knows about, and it's going to stay that way. it's too embarrassing for yous guys to see.
anyway, i read the other day that i should keep a journal. i have a terrible memory so it seems like a good idea to keep track of all the little details. plus i can post pictures and shit. don't expect Thoreau though. i'm a simple man. |
